Instructor

Instructors are the lead teachers of the workshop

– Teach at least two (2) classes
– Some instructors may be asked to observe an Associate Instructor

Compensation:
– Paid $50 per class taught
– $25 bump for Associate Instructor observing
– Lunch will be provided Saturday and Sunday
– Travel reimbursement up to $350
– Lodging at the workshop

Associate Instructor (A.I.)

Assoc. Instructors will be those who wish to be mentored in the craft of teaching. They will each teach at least one class and be mentored by one of the Instructors. Associate Instructors are also Teaching Assistants for the workshop.

– Teach at least one (1) class
– Serve as TA for the workshop
– Four (4) positions available

Compensation:
– Paid $30 per day to TA
– Paid $25 bump to AI
– Lunch will be provided Saturday and Sunday
– Travel reimbursement up to $250 when traveling more than 100miles,
– Preference will be given to local staff
– Lodging at the workshop
– Professional development masterclass on Friday

Teaching Assistant (T.A.)

TAs assist in instructing classes. Each class will be provided a teaching assistant to aid the Instructor or Associate Instructor in the material they’re teaching.

– Assist Instructors in workshop classes
– Three (3) positions available

Compensation:
– Paid $30 per day
– Lunch will be provided Saturday and Sunday
– Travel reimbursement up to $250 when traveling more than 100miles,
– Preference will be given to local staff
– Lodging at the workshop
– Professional development masterclass on Friday

Production Assistant (P.A.)

The backbone of any workshop. PAs assist the Coordinators in the execution of the workshop

– Serve as facility attendants to each space
– Handle equipment and weapon transport between spaces (must be able to carry up 50 lb., 100 lb. assisted.)
– Serve as a communication network between spaces, instructors and coordinators.
– Partner in on odd-numbered classes as necessary
– Seven (7) positions available

Compensation:
– Paid $30 per day
– Lunch will be provided Saturday and Sunday
– Travel reimbursement up to $250 when traveling more than 100miles,
– Preference will be given to local staff
– Lodging at the workshop
– Professional development masterclass on Friday

Workshop Armorer

The workshop armourer will be responsible for the armory space, weapons props, and other safety equipment used during the Mid-Atlantic Melee.

– Create and organize the workshop armory
– Inventory items as they come in, either from hosting organizations, or instructors and participants personal stock.
– Maintain or report any damage that occurs
– Track props and equipment as they are taken to and from classes by Production Assistants.
– One (1) position available

Compensation:

– Paid $40 per day
– Lunch will be provided Saturday and Sunday
– Travel reimbursement up to $250 when traveling more than 100miles,
– Preference will be given to local staff
– Lodging at the workshop
– Professional development masterclass on Friday

On-Site Admin Assistant

The Admin Asst will aid the coordinators in the operation of the workshop onsite and during the workshop. Their duties will include

– Assisting at the registration and information desk
– Distributing materials
– Printing and/or making copies
– Other duties as related to the administration of the workshop
– One (1) position available

Compensation:

– Paid $40 per day
– Lunch will be provided Saturday and Sunday
– Travel reimbursement up to $250 when traveling more than 100miles,
– Preference will be given to local staff
– Lodging at the workshop
– Professional development masterclass on Friday

The Workshop is June 6 & 7, 2026
Staff are required on-site on Friday, June 5
